Take a day-trip to Golden Bay, where you can take a 4WD tour to experience the dramatic landscape of shifting sands and migrating wildlife at Farewell Spit, or visit Pupu Springs, the world’s clearest springs. You could stop at Anatoki Salmon Farm and catch some fresh salmon for dinner on the way home.

Spend leisurely hours strolling through local studio galleries and experience the tastes of the area in the many wineries and cafes, or play a round of golf at one of the nearby golf courses.

If you are after a more adventurous holiday, you could skydive, pilot a stunt plane, tandem hang-glide or take microlight flight.
